Onyx Studio 3 is rated out of 5 by 72.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Yohana from A must have speaker After compared both Bose & HK, finally decided to go with HK. Bass is perfect. Not too much, but not too crisp. Sound is obviously powerful. Clarity is okay, but if HK can make the acoustic clearer, nothing can beat it ! In addition that I love the design, I'm impressed that HK provides 1 adapter with so many cables for all types of outlet. I won't have to worry to look for new cables!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chalet from Easy to set up. Awesome sound I have 2 onyx 3 speakers. After hearing one I had to pair it up. So I bought 2. I've been sitting in Newport Beach all morning in a little over five hours my speaker went dead. Used my cigarette lighter outlet in my truck and plugged the speaker in and it worked. I thought you could only use the AC power outlet from home etc. Anyways, sound is awesome. I paid 150 apiece forum well worth the money

Rated 5 out of 5 by Joe Dayton from Absolutely Amazing I found these speakers when having my phone repaired at the Sprint store. There was one playing on it's on, the associate linked another to it and the store came alive. The way it filled the room with such Ambiance was truly remarkable. Put my order in for 2 of them and my tablet as well. Couldn't be more pleased with the purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by pfunk47 from Loudest Bluetooth you can get Heavy Bass, extremely loud for it's size, it can shake the room and you can feel the bass in your body. It's maybe 3X's as loud as the Bose speaker, extremely clean flat sound. It's not small but still portable, I doubt I will take it many places if any but having that ability is a positive. I can't get over how loud this thing is, A++ I picked it up to replace a speaker for my office but now that I am testing it on my TV for the weekend I think it's the new TV speaker. Buying 2 for stereo still makes it cheaper and a better package then a sound bar. I've seen and tried a lot of speaker and this little guy takes the cake, the price makes it an easy choice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LamboManiak from Great Sound is amazing and I had the onyx studio 2 as well and there's a difference in sound and battery. Bass is good, doesn't break up when you turn it all the way up. Over all love the speaker, very clear as well. I've listened to a lot of speakers too and trust me when I say I know sound, this speaker has great bass, very clear, loud and balanced. I'm very picky with my speakers and this is one of the few that has satisfied me. But......the battery life could be a lot better. Lasts me about 2hrs at max volume,4 if I don't turn it up all the way Still love it tho my favorite speaker so far. I would give it 5 starts if it wasn't for the battery life

I have had the Onyx 2 for a while and recently purchased the Onyx 3. Can you tell me the differences in the two versions?
The ONYX STUDIO 3 and ONYX STUDIO 2 have identical drivers and are both rated at 60W. The difference is, if the ONYX STUDIO 3 is running on battery, it will only output half of that rated wattage (half as loud) to save battery. You can only use the full 60W when running with the power cable plugged in. Secondly, the ONYX STUDIO 3 offers Wireless Dual Sound. This allows two ONYX STUDIO 3’s to wirelessly connect to each other, or to the GO+PLAY and ONYX MINI, to play music out of them simultaneously.

As asked here before: Are there any plans for future firmware update or similar, to be able to separate left and right audio channels when using dual speakers via bluetooth. This is what I bought the system for in the first place.
Using the ONYX STUDIO 3's Wireless Dual Sound feature would play two speakers off the same source but will remain as two stereo speakers playing at the same time rather than separate Right and Left channels. There is no information yet as to when or if there is an update regarding your inquiry. This information is conveyed to the proper department for future updates and product improvements. I have one Onyx Studio and one Onyx Studio 3 and would like to know if they can play at the same time connected to the same computer. Right now the bluetooth setting shows them both as connected but I get the sound only out of one of them .
Unfortunately, you cannot play music from the speakers at the same time. The ONYX STUDIO does not have the Wireless Dual Sound feature of the ONYX STUDIO 3.

Is there a way to change the speaker's settings so it will automatically turn off after the source has stopped playing music? I have other BT speakers that will auto turn off after 30 or so minutes if nothing's playing.
The ONYX STUDIO 3 does have this feature. The time of when the ONYX STUDIO 3 goes to sleep and off is fixed and cannot be changed, unfortunately. The ONYX STUDIO 3 goes to sleep mode after 10-minutes that it does not detect any signal to save power. If yours does not do this, please do a reset on your ONYX STUDIO 3 which should fix the issue - Press and hold the "Volume +" and "Phone" buttons for a few seconds, the power button will turn red and the unit will turn off once you've released the buttons. This resets your speaker.

Is there a way to disable the loud tone/sound that plays every time I turn the speaker on and off?
Unfortunately, there is no way to turn the system tone off on the ONYX STUDIO 3. All our portable speakers have the audible tone when switching from one state to another and cannot be switched off or turned down.

What is the aux input for this device? A standard 3.5mm jack?
Yes, the ONYX STUDIO 3 utilizes a standard 3.5mm audio cable for wired connection.
