Better sounding with more features! But....
I preordered this when I got the email & was happy I received it quickly. After charging it I gave it a whirl. The sound is improved from the first version. The bass, is very impressive! The few downsides is that it doesn't come with a carrying case. The speakerphone is a welcome addition, but it isn't very loud! Even trying to adjust the volume it doesn't get loud. Go figure. The final thing, it doesn't sound any louder than the 1st version even though it says it's 7.5 watts a channel. Anyways it is a good speaker & you probably can't find one with the bass this thing puts out.

That Bass O.O
I saw this in a store pounding music and to be hones I was trying to find separate bass speaker from under the display table. The tremble is just as it should be. The bass is little 2 high but I would not take even a half star off cuz of that. I have tested the thing and it plays 9h at max volume I use it to play music and charge my phone everyday. Battery of the phone runs out in 4h of playing Minecraft and this speaker keeps the phone on so I can get home and charge them both.. Weird thing is... This speaker never charges my phone over 76%. Allso.. If you buy this.. Your phone charger can't charge this. I tryed and after 12h it was still under half. Charge with proper charger or a USB port form computer. The USB cable what came with this broke in 5 days.. But Idc I have the USB cables in stock.

audiophile must have
While shopping for Christmas presents for others I played with the different Bluetooth speakers available in a large electronics store. I was so impressed with the full sound (75Hz-20kHz) that this thing pumped out that I couldn't resist grabbing one. After some use, trying different kinds of music, I've found I'm more impressed than when I initially found it. After a little tweaking of my equalizer I've been able to produce very clean, full sound out of this little beast. The passive radiator concept is brilliant. I've read some reviews claiming this has too much bass. You can always take bass away using an eq, but you can't make a speaker that's not capable reproducing bass ad bass. I can't believe the quality of the sound this little monster puts out. I'm in love.

I received my speaker about 2 days ago. I love it. I made sure I did all of the proper research before I bought it because honestly 150 is a lot for something like this. But I now see that it's worth every penny. The sound quality is amazing! The bass is great. I don't even have to have the volume up halfway to get a room filling sound. The only downside is that it did not come with a case. I would think that something like that would be included. Guess not. Now I have to spend more time and money trying to find something I can keep it in safely. Until then i'm going to be paranoid about something happening to it.

Awesome wireless speaker!
I bought a JBL Flip last December and it's really nice. Then I bought the JBL J46BT headphones and liked them too. So, when it came time to add another Bluetooth to my collection for another location this model was the obvious choice. It doesn't seem to have the volume level of the Flip but the sound is so much richer with more bass. When using the hands free phone I was told that the caller on the other end could hear me much clearer with the Charge 2 vs. the Flip. (That not why I bought it so that really isn't important to me. The extra battery life and USB port is very appreciated. Keep up the good work!

small in size, big in sound!
I purchased this speaker after hearing a friends charge 1 & was impressed by the sound. The charge 2 does put out a bit more bass than it predecessor. The overall quality to price ratio is great! The new social mode & speaker phone was a great addition. The only con, is that this version does not come with the neoprene pouch, which is why I gave it 4 stars. I think that was a big mistake on their part & they do not sell one seperate at this time either.

"Eureka...I found it!"
I had tried a could different brands before. I tried each for a few days only to realize the bass was either too extreme and the treble too weak in comparison, or the bass was kinda "flat" (changing the sound setting on my new Samsung Galaxy S6 did NOT help). So, I was discouraged enough to return both and wasn't ready to make another choice yet. Two weeks later, today, I walked into my favorite electronics store, went straight over to the portable sound system section, and did the demo of the JBL Charge 2+ and INSTANTLY loved the wonderful treble and bass. Clarity and deep perfect bass! I bought one and believe it's "keeper"!

JBL Charge is awesome!
I bought this a month ago and it was the greatest investment that I have made. I searched for months along with listening to many of demos in stores before I decided on the Charge 2 just cause of the reviews. Was exactly what I was looking for. Has good quality sound and just a little hint it sounds even better in a cardboard box! Also love the feature that a few phones can be paired with it at the same time

Does this have updated firmware? I read that a firmware update made this speaker sound much better, but I wouldn't know how to update it myself. Thanks!
At the moment, no future plans about releasing new firmware of the CHARGE 2+ are known. If you're having issue with the CHARGE 2+, please submit a request at www.jbl.com/contactus and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to further assist you.

I had hoped to connect this to my Amazon Echo. The problem is the Charge 2+ when in Bluetooth sync mode is passive. So is Echo - both expect someone to manually accept sync. Is there an app or another speaker model I need?
Our portable speakers including the CHARGE 2+ doesn't support a third party speakers over Bluetooth connection. So Amazon Echo will not work with the CHARGE 2+.

is the refurbished item still covered under the one-year warranty?
Yes, our re-certified items do come with a one year manufacturers warranty same with our brand new products.

What does "recertified" mean in terms of warranty? (JBL Charge 2+)
Recertified products purchased from this website come with the product's original warranty protection. For example, the CHARGE 2+ comes with a 1 year warranty protecting you against manufacturing defects.

Can it be paired with another similar speaker for stereo listening (so that one reproduces L and the other does R)?
The CHARGE 2 or 2+ does not have the Connect function. With that said, you can't connect two CHARGE2/2+ for stereo mode. However you can connect them via a hardwired connection using an AUX splitter cable but it would not produce stereo sound. Speakers that have the Connect feature are the following: FLIP 3, CHARGE 3, PULSE 2, BOOST TV and the XTREME.

I just bought a charger 2 and plugged it in - no sound at all little light keeps blinking and when I hit it I get this blurb blurb blurb. cant adjust the sound level either help!!
Try one of these options to possibly resolve the issue.
- Disconnect cabling and unpair/disconnect any devices which may be paired/connected Bluetooth. Allow the battery to completely discharge. Apply the power source and allow the battery to charge completely.
- Try a reset. In power ON mode, press and hold the "Volume +" and "Phone" buttons at the same time for 2-3 seconds. The CHARGE 2+ will power off, and is now reset.
If none of these things work, please submit a case at www.harmanaudio.com/contactus and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to further assist you.

While playing golf & listening to my Charge 2+ thru my IPhone, I received a phone call & it blasted thru the Charge speaker system. How can I turn off the speakerphone so my fellow golfers don't strangle me?
Thank you for the inquiry. The telephone symbol on the speaker enables and disables the speaker phone feature.
