Remote A/B speaker selection
The HK 3490 includes two analog-recording outputs (tape and video), four A/V inputs with composite video (including one on the front panel for video games or portable audio players) and three audio-only inputs. It also has stereo preamp outputs which allow you to use an external power amplifier, composite-video monitor outputs and two digital-audio inputs (one coaxial and one digital).

Tape monitor loop
By affording you the luxury of selecting easily between A/B speakers, the HK 3490 conveniently lets you hear audio in more than one room at a time. In addition, the HK 3490 integrates a tape monitor loop or tape source selector that lets you listen to your music source while recording another source such as a tape or CDR.

Two triggered subwoofer outputs
The HK 3490 offers dual subwoofer outputs with triggers for connecting and powering multiple subwoofers. Matching convenience with energy preservation, these intuitive outputs automatically trigger attached subwoofers on or off in response to relayed voltage or audio signals.

Private listening via headphone jack
For a more intimate listening experience, the HK 3490 headphone jack with HARMAN headphone surround mode helps create a realistic 5.1-channel surround-sound experience from a single set of stereo headphones.
