The specialty Project K2 S5800 speaker system was designed by and for the critical listener. The raw energy of dual 12-inch woofers is harnessed by a sophisticated low-loss crossover network capable of bi-wiring or bi-amping connections. Its steep 24dB-per-octave transitions optimize the performance of each transducer by ensuring uniform system response without bumps or notches. Light, yet rigid, pure titanium and aluminum are the materials of choice for the ultrahigh- and high-frequency drivers. Both materials are extremely quick and responsive, reproducing treble cleanly. Both the ultrahigh-frequency and high-frequency drivers are mounted in a unique combination BiRadial® horn structure. The S5800''s all-metal, gold-plated, 5-way binding posts are bi-ampable, offering even further control over its output.

The Charge-Coupled crossover network includes a bias battery that supplies constant DC bias to the capacitor, so that the network is always "charged", and avoids generating distortion while switching between the on and off states.
The S5800''s all-metal, gold-plated, 5-way binding posts are bi-ampable, offering even further control over its output.
