Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME Sound Had a friend of mine pushing me to buy the JBL EXTREME because it was "bluetooth compatible" but I was just looking for something decent to listen to when i am down working in my shop in my basement and man am I glad I went with the Infinity - reference 162. Listening to the difference between my infinity speakers and his JBL EXTREME is like the difference of driving a Lexus and a Yugo...hands down the Infinity speakers sound wayyyyyyyy better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Musical and Realistic Presentation. I had Infinity Primus 162 ,Perfect 6.1, ERS 210 ll , and TSS 1200. Reference 162 takes the quality of sound to a more realistic and refined level. Used with a pair of sealed NTH 1259 12" subs(used in NHT 3.3 system) I find the sound more satisfying than anything I have heard before. I especially like the clarity and imaging which tend to mask most commercial speakers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sounding speakers I bought these speakers on sale for $199 and was extremely impressed with the sound. I had also bought a set of JBL Studio 590s and while these have a different sound signature, I actually enjoyed the balance of the Infinity's MORE than the JBLs. I'm currently using them as surround speakers and they sound fantastic, but in smaller rooms, they've be perfectly suitable LCR speakers. They sound great for music.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I’ve had a ton of infinity products over the years and have always been happy, so I knew what I was getting. Totally surprised by the bass response though! I thought I’d need a sub for a higher quality setup for vinyl, but with the full range sound coming out of the 162’s there is no need. I agree with some of the other reviews that appearance is pretty simple or plain, but the quality of sound is so good I could care less now!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the infinity reference 162 speakers sound really g Best box speakers I've owned. I do believe they sound better than B&W 805 Diamond that I previously owned.

What is the break in period?

Asked by: davedaring
There is no exact break in period for the speakers specified as this is highly dependent on what music/audio is used to break the speaker in.  If you need further assistance, please submit a case request at and the Customer Service Team will be more than happy to assist you.
