Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blown away by this Full disclosure I got this speaker for $200 from Sprint and it came with a plane ticket but I’m blown away by the quality of this speaker. I haven’t had the chance to truly break it in yet but the volume, clarity, and feel are fantastic. I haven’t seen any information about it’s weather resistance which concerns me and for almost $500 I’m not convinced it’s worth that much. If you’ve got the money or find it on sale you’d be a fool not to grab it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent sound Bought 2 of the hk onyx 5 at sprint for $200 each or $215 with tax which was a good deal. so i can pair them as a stereo speakers. Heres what i have observed Amazing sound with good base and clear highs and lows. Easy BT pairing but doesnt really sepearate a left and right speaker. Loudness of both speakers is not enough to justify buying 2 speaker. When the speakers shuts off you have to manually pair them again evertime they shutoff which is a hussle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Sound for the Size! I bought my 5 on eBay at auction for $73 however it was the best sound investment I've ever bought. The bass is amazing, crystal clear mids and highs with outstanding surround sound. I friend has the 4 which is another great product however it's not as portable as this one. The alluminum handle and flat bottom sets the 5 apart from the 4! All around best portable speaker I've ever bought!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Deep bass, clear midrange/vocal, decent highs I tested this Studio-5 against Studio 4 and I was very impressed by the improvement in bass response and clarity in midrange bands. I would say that it may have a bit too much bass which may be preferred by many users. Some could argue that it doesn't get loud enough, but my counter argument would be that do you prefer distorted and highly compressed "louder" sound OR not-as-loud but less distortion while maintaining a tighter bass response at max volume level?

Asked by: Gabriel210
We'd love you to try it out as well. But this sleek speaker is not IPX7 rated (waterproof). You might want to check our lists of portable speakers that you can immerse in the water at https://www.harmanaudio.com/

Why does my HK Onyx Studio 5 speaker consistently have difficulty connecting to my MacBook Air and/or iPhone XR? I constantly have to do the factory speaker reset just to get it to connect and sometimes that still doesn't even work! :/....

Asked by: NYC2019
Hi there, have you tried to turn off the Bluetooth of the other device before trying to connect the other one? It can be that the speaker does not allow another device to connect while it's connected to another speaker. If you need mroe help, please submit a case request and so we can assist you: https://www.harmankardon.com/support-contact.html

I am unable to sync either of my Onyx Studio 5 speakers to my Bluetooth record player ( Audio Technica LP60-BT). I have tried performing the recommended factory reset (pushing Bluetooth button and volume Up sign for 2-3 seconds) & still no connection.

Asked by: Danny K
Hi there, we're here to help. I understand you want to connect your HK Onyx Studio 5 to your Audio Technica LP60-BT, have you tried to connect your Onyx Studio 5 to your phone or other devices? If they're able to connect to the Onyx Studio 5 then there's no problem with the speaker. Please try to connect your LP60-BT to another Bluetooth speaker too and see if you're successful, if you're not able to connect to it then that means that there's something wrong with the Bluetooth of the Tuner and need to contact the manufacturer. Otherwise, if you're able to connect to a Bluetooth speaker, then everything is working fine and there may be some compatibility issues between the products. If you need more help on the Onyx studio 5, please submit a case request and so we can assist you: https://www.harmankardon.com/support-contact.html

Hi there, it would depend if the Sonos system is capable of connecting a bluetooth speaker or connecting a speaker through an auxiliary cable.

Is there any digital indicator; i.e, percentage for battery level?

Asked by: BOPHEAKDEY
Hi there, our HK Onyx Studio 5 does have a single LED on the front of the speaker that changes its light behavior. It also acts as the battery indicator, meaning it will start to slowly blink a red light to indicate that the speaker is on low battery. We hope this helps.

I think the Studio 5 sounds incredible. Unfortunately, I will need to return it because there is a lag even when I am plugged in directly with a 3.5mm stereo cable. I have tried several cables. Any advice before I return it?

Asked by: Organism
Hi there, we're here to help. Let's try to do a factory reset on the Harman Kardon Onyx studio 5 by pressing and holding the "Volume+" and "Bluetooth" button simultaneously for > 2 seconds, until the Onyx Studio 5 powers off. This should reset it to its factory defaults. Let us know if this helps.
