JBL LINK VIEW is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it!!!!! I had a Lenovo Smart Display which was cool, but it was large, white with OK sound quality. I purchased the JBL Link View which is an amazing Smart screen speaker blends in better being black in my kitchen, is splash proof which is a huge plus for any kitchen and doesn’t take too much space in my opinion. The sound of course is much much better than the Lenovo model. This purchase will not disappoint you with its screen quality and sound.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Good Product - Need update to multiroom audio I bought this a couple days ago and have been very impressed so far. Good sound quality, good display and slimmer footprint than I expected which is great for my kitchen ledge. The only downsides so far have been that it does not yet support multiroom speaker groups (BIG disappointment as JBL web site said it did, but apparently this is coming in a future update by Google) and also if you are putting it on a high shelf the unit has no way to adjust the resting display angle which means my unit was reflecting lights and was shooting duo video of the top of my head. I have propped it up with felt chair tips for now which works, but an adjustable base with multiple angles would be useful.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lots of Potential Great sound and love that it has chromecast. i bought this after I had returned my amazon echo show due to its inability to use YouTube. I thought this would be great for my daughters to be able to watch videos through YouTube and it’s something that entertains while cooking. I was happily surprised when I found out it used Chromecast and that I could watch videos casted from my phone and such, but it is very limited. i cannot cast Netflix, which would be nice, I don’t sit in the kitchen long enough to start a movie. I have a subscription to DirecTV Now and I can cast recorded movies and tv shows and it plays just fine. If I try to cast live tv it plays but with no sound. His is the first time I have used google music and it is alright. Usually when I ask the link view to play music it is unpopular music I have never heard. When I ask to play pandora it seems to just add a station rather than play the station I already have. Overall it sounds great, the ability to use Chromecast is awesome, and being able to access YouTube is always a plus, but I don’t know if it was worth the trade from the amazon echo show, especially now that they came out with a newer model. If JBL and google can fix these few things than I think the JBL Link View is a steal!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than the Google Home Hub Bought the google Home Hub. Turned the lights off and the display goes completely dark. I planned on using this in the bedroom, but can't because you can't see the clock. Ran across the JBL Link View looking for another option. Best Buy only had one and none on display. I took a chance and brought it home. I plugged it in and turned the lights off. Perfect the clock stays visible in the dark. I then fired up Google Music and my wife says wow that's a huge improvement in sound compared to the other one. Both agreed it's a keeper.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Good and hopefully getting better soon? Researched heavily before buying. Pros...very good sound, good screen size and resolution, nice modern shape for the kitchen, just plain works very well. Cons...desperately needs Google update for multi-room speaker group and live view like the Google Home Hub. When exactly is that coming? If not soon, I'm returning and downgrading to a Google Home Hub that has multi-room.

I thought this would be great for my daughters to be able to watch videos through YouTube and it's something that entertains while cooking. I was happily surprised when I found out it used Chromecast and that I could watch videos casted from my phone and such, but it is still very limited. I cannot cast Netflix, which would be nice, I don't always spend a whole movie's worth of time in the kitchen, so a TV episode would be nice. I have a subscription to DirecTV Now and I can cast recorded movies and TV shows and it plays just fine. If I try to cast live TV it plays, but with no sound. This is the first time I have used google music and it is an alright music player. Usually when I ask the Link View to play music it is unpopular music that I have never heard, unless I sign up for a subscription. When I ask the Link View to play a station on Pandora with my linked account, it doesn't seem to recognize that I have that station and adds a new one (this is hit or miss). I don't use Spotify, that may be a better experience. Overall it sounds great, hence the JBL! The ability to use Chromecast is awesome, and being able to access YouTube is always a plus, again the reason I went from the Echo Show to the JBL Link View. But I don't know if it was entirely worth the switch. Especially now that Amazon has come out with a newer model of the Echo Show. If JBL and Google can fix these few things, I believe the JBL link view would top the competition, but until then, it has great potential.

Is it possible to play a YouTube video on the Link View and cast the audio to a Google home Max or Mini?

Asked by: Don_S
Hello! Unfortunately, the JBL Link View is not considered a "speaker" that's why it cannot become a part of a speaker group.

I'm confused - is the sound output in stereo? I was assuming yes with two speaker drivers but I don't see anything in the specs saying the sound output is in stereo.

Asked by: PLakesMan
Yes. The sound output of the Link view is Stereo. 2 drivers for left and right channels respectively.

Will this support Multiroom Audio?

Asked by: DW141
From JBL Customer Support today: Me (30/10/2018, 10:09:13): Hi I just bought a JBL Link View and as opposed to the chart on the web site, multi room audio does not seem to be supported at present https://www.jbl.com/voice-activated-speaker/JBL+LINK+VIEW.html ALVIN (30/10/2018, 10:11:54): Hey there, I can see here that you have an issue with the JBL Link View. Don't worry, I'll be the one to help you out with it. ALVIN (30/10/2018, 10:17:49): Is there any troubleshooting you perform before contacting us ? Me (30/10/2018, 10:21:03): I have troubleshooted the issue. The device is not available for selection as a speaker in the multispeaker groups. I have factory reset and re-setup my Google Home. It is not supported by the device and the device needs to receive an update to do so. Me (30/10/2018, 10:21:50): What I want to know is will this function be coming to the device in an update or should I return the device for a refund? ALVIN (30/10/2018, 10:22:23): I understand that , ALVIN (30/10/2018, 10:23:00): Google are working on a new software that will make it capable of being part of a Chromecast group Simeon . You can request a return and refund from the store where you purchased it from. Me (30/10/2018, 10:25:35): OK, do you have any timeline when this function might be enabled? In the interim, JBL is falsely advertising that it has multiroom functionality on your web site and it should be removed to avoid more customers being misled like myself who carefully researched the product before purchasing. ALVIN (30/10/2018, 10:26:46): We don't have a timeline on when an update will be released since it's from Google. I understand that Simeon I will make sure to submit this one for you and aside from that, is there anything else I can help you with? Me (30/10/2018, 10:31:30): OK thanks. I'm a supporter of your products, please fix the web site ALVIN (30/10/2018, 10:32:35): Sure , I will let them know about it. Thank you for contacting JBL and have a great day!

There are conflicting answers on here as to whether the Link View can be added to a music home group in the Google Home app. Can someone please clarify whether or not this speaker can actually be added to a home group?

Asked by: Desjet24
On the JBL website https://www.jbl.com/voice-activated-speaker/JBL+LINK+VIEW.html the box is checked for multiroom support. Mario, will this become available in the future? If not I am going to take it back for a refund.
