JBL Charge 3 is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 942.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great speaker, true sound This is an awesome speaker for the price, totally worth it. Some speakers have poor equalizers, where the bass or treble is too heavy or too light, but all music played on this bad boy sounds awesome and not distorted. It's super resilient after doing some testing on the waterproofness, and the added feature of charging your devices on it is awesome. Battery life is also really good! One complaint would be that it seems like it takes quite a while to charge back up once it dies completely. I feel like it stays on one bar forever while waiting for it to charge, even when not in use. Other than that, my new favorite portable speaker.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Sound Quality, Annoying Noise I love the Charge 3 because it .. + has a good (well balanced) sound quality + has a long runtime + supports convenient charging via micro-usb + supports stereo pairing (two speaker can be connect as a stereo system) The only thing i really dislike about this speaker is the loud noise when .. - its turned on/off (annoying guitar noise) - its connected via bluetooth (ping-ping noise) - a stereo pairing is established (ping-ping noise) Because of this loud and IMHO unnecessary noises its nearly impossible to use this speaker in a quiet environment. Therefore i can give only 3 stars out of 5. But i would change my rating to 5 stars if this noises could be disabled.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Speaker! This is my first bluetooth speaker. It was extremely easy to pair with my phone and laptop PC. The sound quality is amazing for this little speaker. I live in a 1600 sqft condo and it plenty loud to fill my entire unit. Loud enough to throw a party and entertain. The battery life is phenomenal. I have been playing it for about 3 hrs everyday for the last 7 days and the battery meter has only decreased by 1 bar out of 5! It's the energizer bunny. I like to use this speak while watching Netflix on my PC, and while listening to Pandora on my cellphone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seriously, this speaker is top tier One of the best experiences I have had with a product. This speaker has lasted for 6 months now, works the same as right out of the box. Sound quality- Amazing bass for a speaker of this size, all around good sound Durability- Has been immersed in water, withstood extreme cold, fallen on concrete. There is no visible damage, works good as new Design- Looks good, small, the speaker drivers on the ends look absolutely amazing Bluetooth- Connects quickly and easily, the range is good Would highly recommend this speaker to friends and family, I'm writing this review because I want to support JBL in their future efforts. If this speaker is any indication of what is to come then I am very excited.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gift-great sound My daughter chose the JBL Charge 3 as her birthday gift (she's 23)--and from what she says it has big sound, plus it really is waterproof. A really ingenious item! I bought it directly from the JBL website to avoid possible foreign-made knock-offs on other discount websites. However, I did not buy the genuine JBL carrying case because after reading the reviews I realized it did not have space for the cords. So instead I bought a carrying case (from a different website) that did have enough space for the cords. JBL could probably boost sales by making their carrying case in a roomier size. Fantastic portable speaker, though!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just Amazing! Proud owner of many JBL products ranging from car speakers to headphones and JBL really outdid themselves another time. Sounds so amazing, amazing features. The fact that it’s submersible in water and sounds great is quite the feat! Great battery life... you really couldn’t ask for more. This is a steal as opposed to other sellers matching a product of this quality in more of the $250 range. Do yourself a favor and don’t wait to pull the trigger. (PS, I’m not affiliated with JBL at all... just love their products) Keep it up JBL!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well... Purchased 27 Jan 2016 and while I love the sound, I've had to do a factory reset twice, (averaging so far about once a month). Having only owned a cell phone since right before that, I don't know if it's normal to have to periodically reset BT connections or not, didn't stop me from buying a second one though. I'm anxious to pair them and see how things go, (currently visiting relatives out of state and the second one is waiting for me at home). Hoping for a great summer around the pool!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Buy I bought this about a month ago after my previous speaker had fallen apart. I had JBL headphones and they were great so i thought why not try their portable speakers. I have yet to find anything to complain about. The sound quality is great, high volume for when you really want to blast your music, bluetooth connection is fantastic(No problems connecting over multiple devices like laptop and different kinds of smart phones), and it seems to be made from good durable materials. All i would say is maybe make it able to communicate to another JBL charge 3 so that you can have surround sound. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Will I be able to connect my Xtreme to the Charge 3? I just ordered the Charge 3 from JBL's website. Unsure if JBL updated it to Connect+.

Asked by: XtremeCharge3
You should be able to connect a brand new Charge 3 to your Xtreme speaker. If you purchased a refurbished Charge 3 on the other hand, it is highly likely that it will already have the new Connect+ installed.

How do I tether my new Charce3+ with my verizon elipsis tablet?

Asked by: Billwlw
You may pair your new tablet to the Charge 3 through Bluetooth. When you turn on your speaker for the first time, the Bluetooth will automatically start pairing. Then, enable the Bluetooth on your tablet and allow it to search for the speaker. Once you see JBL Charge 3, tap on it and it should connect.

Is there a way to put a password to limit who can connect to my JBL. If not is there a way to make sure that other electronics do not override my use of my speaker?

Asked by: KelseyL14
Unfortunately, you can't set a password for the Charge 3 to prevent unwanted users from connecting to it. Alternative solutions are, you can either turn off the unit while you are not using it or keep your source connected to it at all times. Or do a reset by pressing and holding the "Volume+" and the "Play/Pause" buttons at the same time until the unit turns off. Once turned back on again it would forget the previous connected devices and you can start it fresh.
