Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sound and perfect for the hearing challenged Only 4 stars because I've only had them for 2 days, but I couldn't be more pleased! My wife and 2 daughters constantly complain about the volume of the tv with my 60 year old (drag strip and duck blind) effected hearing, but NO MORE ! While it took 10 minutes of experiments with the different cables to get it connected correctly to my sound bar equipped Samsung tv, it has been a complete pleasure since. When I chose the correct placement of the audio and power cables, 'pairing' was immediate and constant. I can leave the room and stay connected. Great voice and music tones, and when my wife tried them she heard things in the underlying background even she had been missing! Now for a full Father's Day of watching the US Open!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor customer service ruins this wonderful product Bought this to watch tv without disturbing others. It works beautifully but for one horrible flaw. When you turn the unit on or off, it makes a loud alarming sound to let you know it's turning on or off!! I have to leave the room to turn the unit on or off to keep from disturbing others and there is no way to stop this "feature." Customer support does not seem a priority with jbl and harmon. The user manual and website provide no help. I have an average-small neck and it's okay until you lean back in a chair and get choked.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Soundgear BTA I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He has a hearing problem. I like the concept where by he doesn't need to remove headphones in order to fully hear me. Unfortunately, it's not very comfortable against the back of your neck when lying on the couch (too hard). When walking around it can fall off if you have a small neck and you bend over and it's too tight if you have a large neck. The sound is okay, but needs to be adjusted when the commercials come on and it's not always easy to find the volume button quickly. Also, we noticed that when you operate the microwave oven or move too far away from the TV (like into the next room) the sound from the soundgear gets out of sync with the TV and then it sounds like there is an echo. The only way to correct this it seems is to turn off the soundgear and turn it back on.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from love it and hate it love it because i can walk around listening to music and people dont notice. sound is great and phone calls are even better i use it for work and while driving.... love it my work truck is loud and most bluetooth devices just didnt work for me. i would need a headphone to talk but thats illegal while driving. this works great... ive walked around home depot with 70-80 percent loud volume and no one seems to be bother or even notice. but if you are in a small quite room people will hear it. i use it on my xbox awesome super awesome. now i can play games loud and not have my wife yell lower that every five minutes lol. hate it because hurts my neck. moving around with it will start rubbing and hurting. its the cloth part that bothers. 6 hour battery not true. i think i get less than 4 hours at work and even less when i play call of duty. about 2 and a half the easy connect not really. when using the digital transmitter at first great but when i try using it on another device had problems. the bluetooth is not automatic. have to go into bluetooth settings everytime i need to pair it to my iphone7. why i hate it is because i have many other bluetooth devices that automatic pair to my phone. and last i have to say its a little heavy... the BTA does not work with my tv. samsung Q7 2018 model. bluetooth will but speech not in sync in all i do recommend it. has its cons but everyone that sees it loves it and wants it. fixes i wish they do... remove the cloth it needs to stretch open a little more. its too tight when donning in it or removing it more battery life a must

I have a new tv with Sonos, I have WiFi and BT, I don’t know whether to send it back or hire someone to set it up.... help! I’ll re-rate if I can get it to work :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it's supposed to I bought the Soundgear BTA specifically for playing games on PS4. It works like it should! Before the Soundgear, I bought a bluetooth transmitter and paired it with a competitor product very similar to Soundgear. That didn't really work out well due to the fact that I can not adjust the volume at all. Pros: Work as it should No issues with connection - easy to pair. No lag on videos Cons: If you have a wide neck (I don't) it's going to be hard to put the Soundgear because the opening is not wide enough and it doesn't give enough play. The main competitor of this product has the advantage on that. Would be nice if I can pair 2 Soundgear to the Bluetooth adapter so my wife and I can use each while watching TV. Neutral: Sound is good. Could be a little louder tho. (The competitor has advantage on that) Battery life can be longer. Overall: I am happy with the product, because my main use is for playing games and watching movies on my PS4.

How will you recommand to configure XBOX ONE sound settings, while connecting it with the soundgears BTA optical S/PDIF? Stereo? 5.1? 7.1? bitsream? Dose Windows Sonic or Dolby Atmos are supported?

Is it possible to connect 2 soundgear to a tv sony bavaria

No. The two Soundgears can connect to the BTA, but not to each other. Also, when using one Soundgear, the use of aptxLL may result in a delay. If you are connected to two, the delay may be more noticeable, since LL is no longer active.

I just bought a JBL Soundgear BTA. It makes *extremely* loud status sounds, for example when it looses pairing or is turned on or off. Is there a way to lower the volume? As is the product is really unusable for me - I will get a hearing damage!

I bought soundgear a week ago. I also have flip 4. I try to pair both soundgear and flip 4 together to my ipad, so I can listen to music in higher volume, but pairing does not succeed. I can listen either to  flip 4 or soundgear, but not together. Why.

What you are experiencing is normal. The JBL Soundgear BTA does not have the JBL Connect+ feature, which is what the Flip 4 uses to connect to another JBL speaker bearing the same technology. The Soundgear BTA does not have the capability to hook up to another Bluetooth speaker.

I bought soundgear a week ago. When I charge soundgear, it does not work. It shuts down. Why can’t I listen to music while soundgear is being charged. Is this normal. I have flip 4 that I can listen to music while the flip 4 is charging.

Hi! Yes the Soundgear actually does turn off and is not working when it is plugged into the charging cable, that is normal.
