JBL Xtreme 2 is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 81.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best JBL Bluetooth speaker to date! I've owned more speakers than I like to admit, many of them JBL and the Extreme 2 is a full featured, good sounding, do it all speaker. Bass has good loudness and depth with decent control and the highs sound very smooth and lifelike. Midrange is a little relaxed but this is a JBL speaker we're talking about here (Smiley EQ). Top off the good sound with a rugged design, good battery life and great features (finally you can disable the audio prompts in the JBL app) and this gets a highly recommended from me. Only gripes is I wish it had a different handle. I fashioned a small piece of rope in place of the huge shoulder strap that is included.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Speaker I owned the Flip 3 until the battery gave out (3yrs). I decided to wait on replacing it until this speaker came out. I ordered and received the Extreme 2 very promptly. While it wasn't fully charged it had enough juice to used immediately. The sound did not disappoint, Rich full bass, crisp high notes and good volume. I took it camping and had to turn down the volume out of respect for the fellow campers in the camp ground. Did not test the water proofing nor do I ever really want to. Hopefully they put a decent battery in it so it will last and not fail to charge like so many other speakers do, but only time will tell on that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Speaker!! I bought this recently and i'm very happy that i did, great sound quality, great bass too, looks really great, big plus is that it very portable, also its very good that its waterproof, very handy for pool parties and the beach, also it once started rianing while i was using it so the the fact that it was waterproof helped a lot there too. Also its very very durable, this was very good because i droped it lots of times but it still plays perfectly. The battery is awesome lasts for a looong time without having to recharge it.Definitely a big upgrade the regular Xtreme. Overall a very good speaker would DEIFINITELY recomend to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Sound for it's size I love music. I surround myself in it. When I bought my Side x Side, everyone else spends $1000+ for stereos to run Bluetooth. I bought a Fire Extinguisher mount, mounted this to the underside of my roof above my rearview mirror. Works great! Strap it in the mount and I can ride all day listening to tunes and sounds amazing. Plenty loud over Can Am X3 engine noise. I can take it out anytime to charge it or to use it elsewhere. Amazing little speaker. CONS: I am disappointed that it doesn't charge also through 12v. That would have been helpful to keep it plugged in while riding. I wish there were grated covers on the ends or some type of cover. I don't need to see the mini sub flex. I'd rather have it protected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than ever! Well I just got my Xtreme 2, it’s been such a great experience so far, the only thing is that at high volume I could hear some sort of static sound, which is weird because I barely got it. I had some problems with my Charge 3, as soon as the bass hits, very loud static sound would be released, I made some research and I found out that one of the cables of the left speaker was loose. That cable was the cause of the static sound. I don’t want that to happen to my brand new Xtreme 2. But so far, this speaker has been the best, I am very satisfied with my purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXACTLY what i had hoped for and More! I take my time and carefully research multiple products before I plunk down my money. After much comparison and great attention to detail, I selected the JBL XTREME 2 as the one product that would best fit all of my desired uses and travels. The TROUBLE WAS ... it was not planned to be released for about TWO MONTHS after I had made my choice! I spent a lot of time CHOOSING ... I hated to spend a lot MORE TIME WAITING! HOWEVER, the wait was more than worth it! I love my XTREME 2 ... I might just buy another one now, and more in the future! I highly recommend the XTREME 2 to YOU!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nearly perfect. PLEASE JBL TEAM MAKE IT LOUDER I really love this sound box. It has a great sound. The Bass is deep, the mids are good and the tweets are sharp. Its also very transportable. And i love the waterproof. At some Beaches in the world they steal Soundboxes like that, but now its possible to take it in to the water. NICE! But please JBL Team make it louder. My friend has the xtreme 1 and we just use his one right now, because its significantly louder for outside use. (We are from generation techno, we need the loudness) And im very very sad that the xtreme 1 cant connect with the xtreme 2. Product of the same house, which couldn't connect to each other is very bad product development.

I'm planning on buying five Xtreme2 units. When you connect multiple of these together, how far can they be between each other? If the range is let's say 10m, could I place each one 10m from each other, having a 50m range between first and last?

Asked by: IvanChocron
You can put a distance of as far as 10 to 15 meters in between each speaker just as long as there is a clear line of sight between each speaker - absolutely no obstructions - and the primary speaker should also be as close to the source as possible to ensure strong connection.

I'd like to use this in a gym setting. I teach class and often times there are basketball games sharing the same court. Would this be loud enough to hear the music, and hopefully drown out the sound of the basketball members?

Asked by: TeraA
It would depend on the size of the gym, you can give it a shot just to be sure but if it doesn't seem to drown out the basketball sound we still have the 30 day return period so you can return it to us.

With 2 of these speakers connected, can you set them to deliver discrete Left + Right channel stereo if both are placed 6' apart. That is, left audio field from one speaker and right audio field from the other in true stereo spread.

Asked by: MetroGnome
You can do that through the JBL Connect app and putting them on stereo mode.

How does the auto off function work? does it work when using battery power and when plugged into the wall?

Asked by: Brock
Thank you for your question. The speaker will automatically turn off after 10 minutes of inactivity. This happens both when it's using battery power and when it's plugged into the wall as a battery and electricity saving measure. If you need further assistance, please submit a case request at https://www.harmanaudio.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service Team will be more than happy to assist you.

Can I adjust tone settings

Asked by: Papatropolis
Unfortunately there is no way to directly adjust the tone settings. You may need to use a 3rd party equalizer app to adjust the bass.

I own and love my JBL Xtreme 2. However, I cannot for the life of me get it to connect to my Alexa. I cannot find anything on the internet with a solution to this. Has anyone figured out how to successfully connect a JBL Xtreme 2 to an Alexa Echo Dot?

Asked by: BoomConnect
You may need to contact Amazon to get your echo dot connected to the Xtreme 2. Also , please don't forget to put the Xtreme to in pairing mode by pressing and holding the bluetooth button until it flashes.
